At Corpus Christi, wellbeing is not an add-on to learning — it is the foundation. We believe that every child thrives when they feel safe, connected and deeply valued. Inspired by the words of the prophet Jeremiah, “For I know the plans I have for you… plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11), we recognise that each student is created with purpose and unique potential.
Our wellbeing framework is grounded in faith, informed by research and lived out daily through strong relationships, consistent expectations and explicit teaching of social and emotional skills.
A Whole-School Commitment
Wellbeing at Corpus Christi is shared responsibility. Staff, students and families work together to create a culture of respect, inclusion and belonging. Clear and consistent behavioural expectations support students to feel secure and confident in their environment.
Building Resilience and Emotional Literacy
Through The Resilience Project, students explicitly learn and practise Gratitude, Empathy and Mindfulness. These principles are embedded into classroom routines and conversations, equipping students with practical strategies to regulate emotions, respond to challenges and strengthen positive thinking habits.
The Respectful Relationships curriculum further supports students to develop healthy relationship skills, understand emotions, resolve conflict constructively and promote equality and respect in all interactions.
Connection and Belonging
Strong relationships are at the heart of student wellbeing. Our buddy programs, House teams and leadership opportunities foster connection across year levels and encourage students to contribute meaningfully to school life. We intentionally create opportunities for student voice, empowering learners to take ownership of their growth and community.

Targeted Support and Early Intervention
We recognise that wellbeing needs vary. Through proactive monitoring, small group support and collaboration with families and external professionals where required, we ensure that students receive the right support at the right time.
Growing Confident, Compassionate Learners
We intentionally teach students to:
- Understand and regulate their emotions
- Show empathy and compassion
- Build and sustain positive relationships
- Make thoughtful and responsible decisions
- Approach challenges with resilience
Student Leaders
The current Year 6 Student Leadership Team for 2026 holds the following roles:
School Captains – Leads the student body and represents the school community.
House Captains (MacKillop, Panola, Portland, Woods) – Inspire teamwork, house spirit, and friendly competition.
Corpus Action Team (CAT) Members – Drive school initiatives and contribute to positive change across the community.
Through this intentional and relational approach, students at Corpus Christi grow not only in knowledge, but in character. They develop the confidence, resilience and sense of hope needed to flourish at school and beyond.

At Corpus Christi, student leadership means making a difference. Our leaders model respect, teamwork and responsibility, while supporting their peers and contributing to school life. Leadership here is about voice, action and positive impact
Learning Diversity & Inclusion
At Corpus Christi, we believe that every child is created with unique gifts. It is our commitment to embrace every learner, honoring their dignity and ensuring their safety and wellbeing. Guided by the values of justice, integrity, respect and dignity we ensure that every student is known, valued and empowered to reach their full potential.
We recognise that a child’s educational journey is shaped by their unique life experiences and cultural background. Our support extends beyond the classroom to nurture the “whole child” across all developmental areas: Academic, Social-Emotional Wellbeing, Physical and Sensory Support, Cultural Identity and Exceptional Ability.
We believe that the best outcomes are achieved when we walk together. Our “village” approach ensures a wrap-around support system for every child:
- Families as Partners: We value parents as the first educators of their children and encourage active participation in the learning journey.
- Expert Leadership: Our Learning Diversity and Curriculum Leaders work directly with teachers to design and implement differentiated learning strategies and provide reasonable adjustments.
- Specialised Support: We integrate advice from Allied Health professionals (Speech Pathologists, OTs, and Psychologists).
- System Connections: We draw on the specialised expertise of MACS (Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools) consultants to ensure our practices meet the highest standards.
Through collaboration between teachers, families and specialists, we aim to create a supportive learning community where every student is encouraged to develop confidence, independence and a love of learning.
