Wellbeing

Our commitment to the wellbeing of students at Corpus Christi is drawn from and inherent in the teaching and mission of Jesus Christ, with love, justice and the sanctity of each human person at the heart of the gospel.

Wellbeing and the full flourishing of the person cannot be separated from learning: they are inextricably linked and must be positioned at the heart of school life (Catholic Education Melbourne 2018, eXcel: Wellbeing for learning in Catholic school communities).

At Corpus Christi we believe that the student is at the heart of all learning and teaching and that the promotion of their wellbeing is necessary to achieve success.  We hold the care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people as a central and fundamental responsibility of our school. All programs aim to create a strong culture of wellbeing within the classroom and across the school to maximise learning and teaching.

We recognise that Catholic schools have a call to teach beyond academic areas. As such, our Wellbeing program aims to address the social, emotional, academic, spiritual and physical needs of each student. Our Wellbeing curriculum includes programs such as Respectful Relationships, Berry Street Education Model, Circle Time and Restorative Practice. Our wellbeing programs are continually linked to our Education in Faith which mirrors our call to be a living part of the Body of Christ.

We provide support for parents in their vital role by offering parent and parish programs, such as eSafety information nights and the Tuning in to Kids parenting support program.
